Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said review the operational progress of the LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) Terminal in the South Pier, Port of Benoa Bali which managed by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero). The LNG terminal is operated by PT Pelindo Energy Logistics (PEL), a subsidiary of Pelindo III, to deliver LNG to Pesanggaran power plants in South Denpasar. The arrival of Minister at Terminal LNG was welcomed by the Director of Operations and Business Development Pelindo III Rahmat Satria and President Director of PT PEL Denny Hermanto.
In the presence of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the team, Rahmat Satria describes the distributing process of LNG to be gas through the video presentation. "If the gas supply to the Denpasar and its surrounding running smoothly then we can build in Celukan Bawang port in the future," said Rahmat Satria in a press release that reported on Monday (04/04/2016). Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the team immediately came on Friday, to see ship facilities FRU (Floating Regasification Unit) which has been docked at the south. FRU called Lumbung Dewata was created in South Korea and has arrived in the port of Benoa since Wednesday.
Everything is done by Pelindo Energi Logistik strengthened by the Indonesian people, he said. LNG Terminal progress is already 90% just waiting for the arrival of the FSU (Floating Storage Unit) which serves as a temporary storage of LNG, before entering into the FRU. Later, after the entire pipeline has been connected, the LNG Terminal in the Benoa is ready to operate and provide fuel efficiency for the power plant worth up to Rp 4 billion per day. In addition the use of gas fuel also reduce the noise, vibration, and exhaust gas emissions. So in time with running Terminal LNG, Pelindo III supports Bali Clean and Green Province Program. With the supply of clean energy, development in Bali will grow in order to provide economic benefits for the Bali people and Indonesia, Satria Rahmat added.
